About Me
Rodna Francois, M.A., Ed.S., is a Miami, Florida, native who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families thrive. A graduate of Miami Beach Senior High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology, with a minor in family and child consumer sciences, from Florida State University.
She went on to earn a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Forest Institute School of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri. Early in her career, Ms. Francois provided counseling services through a variety of community agencies, working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. These experiences strengthened her commitment to supporting the emotional, behavioral, and educational well-being of children and adolescents.
Inspired by her work with students and families, Ms. Francois discovered her passion for school psychology and returned to Florida to further her education. She earned her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in school psychology from Florida International University (FIU).
For more than a decade, Ms. Francois has conducted comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students of all ages and exceptionalities across multiple school districts. She has extensive experience assessing learning, developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs, helping families better understand their children’s strengths while identifying areas where support may be beneficial. Her collaborative approach ensures that parents, educators, and other professionals work together to develop meaningful strategies that promote academic achievement and overall well-being.
Whether we are providing counseling, conducting an evaluation, or both, our approach is centered on helping individuals achieve balance, recognize their strengths, and develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive at home, in school, at work, and in everyday life.
Approach
At Balance Your World: Mental Health Services, we believe that emotional, mental, and physical well-being are deeply interconnected. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that achieving a healthy balance in all areas of life creates the foundation for resilience, personal growth, and lifelong wellness.
Whether through counseling or comprehensive psychoeducational, our goal is to provide individualized, compassionate, and evidence-based services that empower children, adolescents, adults, and their families. We recognize that every individual has a unique set of strengths, challenges, and life experiences, and we are committed to creating a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, understood, and valued.
Our counseling services support children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and stressors. Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation, we help clients strengthen coping skills, build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and develop practical strategies for achieving their personal goals. We believe that meaningful change begins with understanding, support, and a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Our comprehensive psychoeducational are designed to do more than identify cognitive, academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges. They also highlight each individual’s strengths, learning style, and unique potential. Evaluations are beneficial not only for students experiencing academic or developmental difficulties, but also for high-achieving and gifted learners whose educational and emotional needs may otherwise go unrecognized. By gaining a deeper understanding of how an individual learns, thinks, and processes information, families and educators are better equipped to make informed decisions, access appropriate services, and support long-term success.
